Issues of driveway plastic culverts

Drainage Systems

When building a new driveway, plastic culverts are used in the driveway drainage system. These culverts present some issues.

They may require a permit to be installed, because of the property altering that will occur.

You might want to save yourself some time and money checking with the city council before you start anything.

Be sure to bury the plastic culverts deeply, as if they are not buried deep enough, the shear weight of a car driving on the driveway above is enough crack or even crush the culvert.

Clogs are another issue of the culverts. If not inspected regularly, The water stored at the end of a culvert can flow back through the pipe and into the house.
