During the Victorian Age, people used different flowers to suggest what they could not say loud because the decorum did not allow it. This way they were free to say what they wanted without speaking a word. Victorians used to send bouquets of flowers and their receivers were able to elucidate the unspoken message by taking into account the type of the flowers, their number and/or their color. The arrangement of the bouquet had also been symbolic, expressing an unvoiced message.
