Chimney repairing

Sometimes, a bird can get caught inside the chimney pipe. You must remove the bird without harming it or damaging the chimney pipe.

  • Cardboard
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Packing tape
  • Flashlight

Making a cardboard tool

Find out the dimensions of the chimney opening and cut a piece of cardboard using those dimensions.

Using tape, attach strings to the four corners of the cardboard. The strings must be long enough to go all the way through the chimney from top to bottom.

Remove the bird

Lower the cardboard tool down the chimney vertically so that you don’t push the bird downwards. When the cardboard reaches the damper place, lower the strings so that the cardboard tool will be placed horizontally inside the chimney. Using a flashlight, spot the bird and wait for it to land on the cardboard. After that, slowly raise the cardboard up the chimney until it exists through the top. This way you will solve the bird problem and also make sure it won’t be harmed in the process.
