Drip irrigation

Outdoor irrigation is a healthy way of taking care of your garden. An irrigation system can also be very economical in terms of time and money.

Start off by planning the project.

Determine the outdoor water source you will use. You will need to use an Y shaped connector to attach the irrigation system to the water source. This way you can also use the water faucet for another task at the same time.

Lay down the design on paper. Make sure to note down every plant that needs irrigation. Each plant will need at least one emitter. After planning and sketching, you must install the system. Get the items needed including the system tubing. Cut the tubing to the proper size and let it soften in the sun for about 2 hours.

Now all you have to do is put everything together. Connect the following pieces to the water faucet and to one another in this order: Y connector, electric timer, a backflow preventer, hose thread adaptor, length of hose that reaches the required area, hose thread adaptor, drip irrigation line. Turn on the water, adjust its flow and that’s it.
