Irrigation hose

Because irrigation systems freeze or clog during winter, it is best to use an air compressor to blow the system out after draining it completely.

First of all you must close the main water valve. Make sure you know exactly where the valve is.

Charge an air compressor until it reaches 60-80 psi but not more. Close the drainage system and then attack the blower’s air hose to the blow-out connection. Turn the compressor. Take time to winterize each zone. The pressure turns into mist and then into air. The area is properly winterized when the number reads ’10’. Make sure the back flow meter hasn’t got any water. Open the drains and leave the ball valve at a 45 degree angle to prevent it from cracking or freezing.
