Lumber wood

Raised flower beds are a great ornamental solution for problematic soil. Plan where, how many and how big should the flower beds be and choose the material; pressure treated lumber wood is great for larger ones, while rail tiles and landscape timber are excellent for smaller flower beds. You can even make them from cedar, which will look very attractive, but whatever the material you choose, they should not be made more than 18 inches high or they might tumble.

It is best if the container is secured into a trench in the ground for reducing chances of tumbling.

The soil should be prepared by loosening it for a better aeration and drainage and cleaned of weeds and other plants, then mixed with compost. If it’s still not well-drained enough you can add sand and gravel in the mixture.
You are now ready to start planting your flowers and herbs of choice, have fun!
