A sauna can either be dry or wet.

A dry sauna can reach temperatures of 250 degrees Fahrenheit whilst a wet sauna is cooler and implies steam.

Benefits

There are many benefits of using a sauna. The most known benefits help nourish skin, increase blood circulation, help wounds and injuries heal more quickly, burn calories, soothe tired muscles and help with acne through pore stimulation.

Safety

You must respect some safety tips when using a sauna, to fully benefit its properties.

Make sure you don’t wear any jewelry that may heat up and burn your skin. Avoid dehydration by drinking 2-4 glasses of cool water after you exit the sauna. Also, taking a cool shower or entering a cool pool after exiting the sauna if beneficial and strongly recommended. Avoid drying your hair excessively wearing a towel or a turban on it. Do not drink alcohol and do not eat in the sauna. Alcohol will lower your blood pressure and cause dizziness. Also, if you have a blood pressure problem or any heart illness, you should consult a doctor before you use the sauna. Don’t eat before entering the sauna and don’t spend more than 20 minutes in the sauna.
