Automatic garden irrigation system
The drip irrigation system is an effective and automatic irrigation system that delivers a proper amount of water directly to the base of roots of the plants. This system can be used for pretty much any type of garden and plants. An AC battery powered controller is used to power the system.
Connect a back flow preventer to the outdoor water faucet and then connect a filter and a pressure regulator to the system. Flush the system using cold water. This way you will see if the hose expands. Turn the water off after inspecting the system and position the system around the yard so it reaches the desired areas. Use right angle connectors if you are going to use sharp angles.
The main line must be anchored each 3 feet. Make holes in the tube and attach emitters. These will deliver the water to the plant. Depending on the size of the plant and its water requirements, the emitters can be more or less. Assure drainage installing an emitter to the lowest point of the system. Use a 8 shaped clamp to close the open end of the line. Use mulch to cover the main tube and emitters. You can use landscape fabric bellow the lines and emitters.
Time the controller as needed. Twice a week is the best schedule for watering. Check on your plants to see if they are properly watered. Also, inspect the emitters regularly to see if they clog or not.
