Installing a low pressure irrigation system

Also known as a drip irrigation system, the low pressure irrigation system is used basically to water flower beds and gardens. The system will work best if you have an external water spigot.

Start off by connecting the back flow preventer to the water spigot.

This way, water won’t be able to go back into the main water system pipes. After that, connect the pressure regulator to the back flow preventer. This device will allow you to adjust the pressure of the irrigation system. Connect a water filter to the pressure regulator and then connect the drop hose to the water filter. The water will drip along the length of the hose providing a constant flow of water. Place the hose around the landscape making sure it reaches the plant stems but doesn’t come in contact with the plant itself. As a finishing touch, stake the hose to the ground using wooden stakes. This way the hose won’t move when water passes through it.
