How to relax

Everybody knows that both whirlpool hot tubes and home saunas have a common purpose: to help people relax and feel very comfortable. But some researchers believe that whirlpool hot tubes are a favorable place for bacteria to develop. After they have taken and tested several water samples from whirlpool bathtubs, they have proven that all hot tubes were contaminated with bacteria, fungi and even staphylococcus bacteria.

A teaspoon of whirlpool hot tube water contains much more bacteria than a teaspoon of normal tap water. These bacteria can provoke urinary skin infections, tract infections, pneumonia and many other diseases. Bacteria named Legionella causes Legionnaires’ disease; bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa causes a hair follicle infection and its main symptoms are irritations and dark red rashes on the skin.

On the other hand, all studies revealed that saunas are very beneficial for our health if used regularly.

People who take a sauna bath twice a week are less susceptible to colds than those who don’t use saunas at all. Regular sauna baths can help people who suffer from hypertension, obstructive pulmonary disease, rheumatic disease, high cholesterol and diabetes; they also increase cardiovascular activity, stimulate vital organs and glands, provide a peaceful sleep, accelerate healing functions, etc.

As we can see, sauna fans can keep enjoying their therapeutically baths while whirlpool hot tub enthusiasts should be a little concern about the safety of their spoiling place.
