Well-drained soil

These flowers are remarkably beautiful and ornamental and they can be part of any home, not just those of gardening enthusiasts.

They are perennial, so you don’t need to plant them every year, and propagation is done through octopus-shaped bulbs, which can produce several flowers and have all the necessary nutrients.

Well-drained soil is required (so avoid spaces where water puddles hours after a rain) placed in an ample (they grow big), sunshine lit area; if not, you can add organic material, compost and manure as a 6 or 6.

5 pH level is also recommended. If you plant them in pots use a clay pot which allows good drainage. As the bulbs are so peculiarly shaped, they need to be planted in a special way – don’t panic, it’s nothing complicated: place them with the legs pointing downwards. The hole should be shallow, some 2 inches deep; cover them well and water, but not too much, just keep it moist. You can mix liquid fertilizer once you’re done.

At night the temperature should be cool (an ideal of 45-50 Fahrenheit), while during the day around 60 F should be great.

The flowers grow tall so they can look really good in a bouquet or a flower arrangement and the plant itself won’t suffer if you snip them, actually helping another cycle of growth.

When the flowering season is over and the leaves turn yellow, the Ranunculus will go dormant so you should stop watering it and in autumn it should sprout again and again during spring.
