White flowers
Spring flowers and colours are a sight to be seen after a cold monochrome winter. Opt for some spring flowering shrubs for your garden and enjoy the colour fest – a one colour theme can have a stunning effect or a multicoloured theme using the same species.
If you want white flowers then you have to try star magnolia and mock orange.
The mountain laurel blooms profusely in late spring, with clusters of white, pink or red flowers, and grows best in acidic, well-drained soil.
You can use a combination of camellias, which come in delicate white, yellow, pink or red, and are one of the most popular spring shrubs, the most famous subspecies being the Japanese Camellia. They thrive in acidic and moist soil, kept well-drained. As soon as they begin to bloom you should prune them because they bloom in abundance.
An easy to grow flower, typical for spring, is the lilac, with powerful fragrance and colourful flowers – just keep it in well-drained soil and plenty of sunlight.
Nature has provided us with many spring flowering shrubs to choose from, we have only presented some of our favourites.
