About termite stakes
Termite stakes represent a a cheap and effective way of killing off termites. The way it works is by poisoning the termite worker that eats it and brings it to the colony. That way, the poison spreads and kills everything.
Termite stakes can only be used outdoors, because using them inside the house may cause poisoning to the pets or even children. You must cover up an area with these stakes 20 feet away one from another and 6 feet away from the house.
Using stakes if you already have a termite infestation inside the house is useless in order to kill them. But, you may still use stakes in the yard to prevent future infiltrations.
Termite Stake Chips
To help prevent infestations to begin with, a more drastic and effective method can be used. Dig a small trench around the house about 10 inches deep and 3 inches wide. It should be 6 feet away from the house. Purchase and then break down into smaller pieces, as many termite stakes as you can get. Place them into the trench and cover it with tamper down. It will act like a barrier that will kill off colonies of termites and keep them away from the house.
