- Gloves to protect your hand
Preparations
Take the liner out of it’s package. Secure the bottom connector and connect it to the hose clamp of the liner.
Measure and cut
Measure the length needed for the liner to fit exactly in the chimney with a measuring tape. To that length add 1 foot more of liner and cut it with a pair of heavy-duty snips. Avoid jagged edges on the liner.
Insulation
Measure the size of the insulation wrap. It should be applied to the chimney liner from top to bottom, leaving 1 inch to overlap. Put the insulation wrap on the ground and place the liner on it. Being wrapping the liner and then secure the overlap using adhesive tape. Spray adhesive into the liner and than pat the insulation wrap to make it fit into place.
Protect the insulation
Place the stainless steel liner into a stainless steel mess to protect the insulation wrap. The mess must be attached using the hose clamps. Be sure not to damage the wrap in the process.
Install the liner
To install the liner you will need some help. Tie a rope to the liner and have someone pull it from the top of the chimney. Meanwhile, carefully guide the liner down the chimney. When the liner is in the right position, apply silicone caulk to the chimney crown and press the liner top into the crown. Attach the liner to the appliance connector and secure the base of the liner into place.
