Automatic homemade irrigation system

An automatic irrigation system is a very handy device to have especially if you plan on leaving the house for a long period of time. You can use recyclable products to build your own, automatic irrigation system, many times a lot less expensive than commercial irrigation systems.

Start off by drilling 2-3 small holes in the container lid.

The container can be a soda or a water bottle. Next, fill the container with water and put the lid back. Dig some relatively small holes around the plant’s roots and then place the container there with the lid facing down. This will help drip the water directly to the roots. The water in the container should last for about a week if outdoors and 2 weeks if indoors. Replace the water in the container when it is almost over. If water drains out of the container to quickly, this means the wholes in the lid are too big.
