Drip irrigation parts
A very efficient irrigation system, is the drip irrigation system. It uses a drip tube to deliver water directly to the roots of a plant, reducing water waste due to runoff and evaporation.
Tubes and emitters
You can choose from 2 drip tube types.
Installation
The built-in drip system requires minimum labor to install. With all the components already in place, you just connect it to the water source and regulate the water flow using additional emitters if needed. If you want to cover a larger area, try grouping the emitters closely. Position the drip tube over the roots of a plant to allow the water to reach the right area quicker. Secure the drip line into place using sod or irrigation staples.
Position the line carefully so it doesn’t curve out of shape. Keep on eye on the water that comes out of the system. Volume and pressure may need to be regulated. You need to water your plants 2-3 times a week for 45 – 90 minutes and even more often in hot summer days. Shut the system timer in rainy weather if the system doesn’t have a rain sensor.
