  • Three pieces of lumber (8 feet x 16 inches x 1/2 inch)
  • No-slip pads
  • Super glue
  • Measuring tape
  • Pencil
  • “L” brackets
  • Electric screwdriver
  • 1/4-inch screws

You need to measure the length of a side of the hot tub.

That length is the size of the steps you need to built. You will need to cut pieces of lumber according to the size of the tub. You need 3 steps that can have stringers for extra stability. Stringers must be placed every 1 /2 inches. Pre cut stringers will save you money and time.

Apply wood glue to the sides of the stringers. Place the first step and line the edges. Place the stringer and then place the second one 1 1/2 inches away. Repeat the process. Make sure the wood is dry before continuing. Apply glue to the edges of the steps and stringers and attach plywood sheets to the ends of the steps. Nail the steps to secure them and then use a hand saw to finish the steps.

As a finishing touch, you can add a non-slip pad to each step in order to increase the safety of the steps. All you need to do is apply a thin line of glue on the steps and then add each pad.
